Departed Nottingham Forest player Andre Ayew doesn’t think anything will stop Morgan Gibbs-White and Brennan Johnson from going to the top of the game at some point in their careers.

Ayew left the City Ground at the end of his short-term Forest deal. He made a handful of appearances for the club, failing to find the net and missing a penalty against Tottenham in March.

The striker was signed as someone who knows Steve Cooper incredibly well. Ayew arguably played his best football under the Forest head coach when the pair were at Swansea together.

Ultimately, it didn’t work out for Ayew at Forest. He never really looked like becoming an integral player and he was perhaps signed to stop Everton signing him to bolster their own relegation battle.

Still, Ayew gave his all and he found time to praise two Forest stars during his time at the club. Interestingly, the pair kept the experienced performer on the fringes for a lot of the time and he is impressed with the two players.

He told The Athletic: “They could have an incredible career if they steer clear of injuries. If they take care of themselves, their bodies, I don’t think anything will stop them.”

Ayew thinks two Nottingham Forest players are going to the top

With Forest now securing their top-flight status for another season, the Reds will hope to keep hold of both players. Had they been relegated, the chances of keeping both would have been slim and none.

The Reds need to ensure that they continue progressing next season. They must ensure that they improve on the 16th place of last season, with Johnson and Gibbs-White likely to be integral.

Clubs are keen on Johnson but Forest will likely resist any temptation to sell. Ayew knows how good both players are and on the back of his comments, the hope will be that Forest can keep them around.
