Nottingham Forest transfer target Dean Henderson won’t be going on a pre-season tour to America with Manchester United. The goalkeeper is on the club’s shortlist as they bid to sign a new stopper this summer.
According to The Times, Henderson is currently back in training with the Red Devils. However, he’s open to moving to the City Ground and his future will become clearer when United sign a new goalkeeper.

Henderson was on loan at Forest for the 2022/23 campaign. He was one of the club’s first new signings of the summer after winning promotion and he didn’t disappoint when he was called upon.
The 26-year-old is now set to miss the club’s pre-season training camp in the USA. Officially, it’s being suggested that it’s down to the stopper recovering from his thigh injury, but it could be to help smooth through a move to Forest.
Henderson wants to move to Forest. That seems pretty clear after he seemed to fire a shot at United following his arrival at the City Ground over some broken promises the season previous.

Erik ten Hag will keep him around for now. However, the Red Devils want to land Andre Onana and are currently in talks with Inter over signing the Champions League finalist.
During his time at Sheffield United, Henderson was raved about by Sander Berge. He called the stopper ‘insane’ and Forest would be getting themselves a quality signing.
Forest target Henderson won’t go on United’s pre-season tour
Forest fans worshipped Henderson last season. He made 20 appearances and kept six clean sheets; the most of any goalkeeper in the Premier League outside of the top six at that stage of the season.

Henderson stayed at the City Ground even when he picked up his injury. He could often be spotted in the stands when the team were performing and at the end of the season, he cut a relieved figure after Forest beat Arsenal.
This is another positive step for Forest in their pursuit of Henderson. Hopefully, the fact that he’s staying behind whilst United go to the USA is a sign that he wants the move to Forest done quickly.
