Nottingham Forest have seen a move for Botafogo striker Matheus Nascimento collapse in the last 24 hours. Now, there have been some contrasting claims emerging about this particular deal.
According to Lucas Pedrosa, the striker was the subject of an accepted deal but the player didn’t want to make the move. It’s been claimed that he’d like to stay in Brazil at least until January, with Botafogo currently top of the league.

However, Alan Nixon from The Sun has made some other claims. He’s now reporting that Nascimento is wanted by Forest still but that they will loan him straight to Olympiacos if the deal comes to fruition.
Who is Forest target Nascimento?
Well, he’s viewed as one of the brightest young talents in Brazil and only 12 months ago he was targeted by Real Madrid. It’s believed that they’re still keenly monitoring his situation this summer too.
At 19-years-old, Nascimento is finding his feet in men’s football. He’s already weighed in with some goals for his current club and he looks set for a bright future.

Nascimento won’t cost a fortune. It’s believed by reading the reports that a fee of £15 million would be enough to prise the striker away from Botafogo.
Will Forest get their man?
At this stage, who knows? This is turning into yet another saga with several reports doing a lot to contradict each other. Only time will tell how this one plays out.
Nascimento would be a quality signing for Forest. Although he’d arrive as a relatively unknown quantity, the fact he was wanted by Real Madrid says a lot.

Forest fans hadn’t really heard of Danilo before January. Within months, he was a fan favourite and the supporters had even made a song about him.
Nascimento could have the same impact if he signs terms at the City Ground. As a result, it will be hoped that Forest can still get this deal over the line.
