Nottingham Forest are one of the clubs in the running to sign Luka Ivanusec – but Feyenoord do look set to win the race. The Reds are keen to strengthen their squad this summer and as of yet, they haven’t added anyone to their ranks.

According to reports, the Reds were very keen to sign the Croatian winger. The deciding factor in this whole transfer, however, has been the player’s desire to move to Feyenoord.

Ivanusec is wanted at the Eredivisie outfit. At this stage, they’re yet to submit a third offer to his current club Dinamo Zagreb, with the first two bids rejected by the Croatian club.

The 24-year-old is finally ready to sample a bigger club. He’s been a mainstay in the Zagreb team for several years, making 166 appearances, scoring 32 goals and claiming 18 assists.

Ivanusec is thought to be available for around £10 million this summer. It would appear as though his heart is set on a move to Holland, with Wolfsburg one of the other clubs that he’s apparently rejected.

Forest have been linked with a number of wingers this summer. This week, they missed out on the signing of Willian, with Anthony Elanga and Callum Hudson-Odoi also thought to be on the radar.

Forest keen on Ivanusec but they’re going to miss out

It was only tentative interest from Forest with this one. It’s likely that they moved on as quickly as they were told by the player that he had a desire to go elsewhere.

Signing players who are only proven in Croatia is always a risk. Forest were heavily linked with a move for Mislav Orsic before Southampton signed him and he was dreadful for the Saints.

One aspect of signing Ivanusec that would have been useful is his versatility. He’s played as a number 10 and on both flanks for Zagreb and at £10 million, he’s hardly expensive.

Still, Forest have bigger fish to fry this summer. At 24, Ivanusec might have a fair bit of potential that is unearthed but perhaps Feyenoord is a better next step for him to prove his quality.
