Nottingham Forest look to have missed out on the signing of Callum Hudson-Odoi from Chelsea. The player has now agreed personal terms with Fulham as they push to complete the transfer.
The Reds look to have prioritised the signing of Anthony Elanga from Manchester United instead. Hudson-Odoi is still a top target at Fulham, with The Evening Standard claiming they’re trying desperately to do a deal.

The winger has lost his way in recent years. Last season he went on loan to Bayer Leverkusen and didn’t really have the required impact under Xabi Alonso.
Now, the player is desperate to leave Stamford Bridge this summer. He’s been attracting interest from Lazio also and this is perhaps a deal that Forest have been priced out of.
Hudson-Odoi earns around £120,000-a-week at Chelsea. Given that he’s endured some rotten luck with injuries in recent years, that would be a pretty big outlay for a player with a point to prove.

The 22-year-old needs a run of games in a team and it would appear he’s happy with the package that Fulham have offered. Now, the two clubs just need to agree on a deal to sign the player.
Forest look to have missed out on Hudson-Odoi
This is perhaps a bit of a surprise. Clearly, they feel that Elanga is a better option, however, and have pressed ahead with that particular deal in the past few days.
Hudson-Odoi would have proved a very risky piece of business for the Reds. His injury record is nothing short of horrendous in recent years and Forest were stung with several of those last season.

Steve Cooper might have fancied landing Hudson-Odoi. The head coach worked with the Chelsea player during his time managing the England under-17 outfit and fancied a reunion.
Now, the Reds will turn their attention towards getting Elanga over the line. It’s hoped that he will provide an injection of pace to the Forest team and perhaps Hudson-Odoi has proved just too pricey for the Reds this summer.
