Sky Sports have just made an exciting claim about Anthony Elanga and his pending transfer to Nottingham Forest. The Reds are closing in on the Manchester United man a new signing could now be imminent.

It’s been claimed on Sky Sports News that the player is undergoing a medical at the City Ground. If it all goes according to plan, the Reds will complete their capture in the coming days.

Elanga is ending a long association with United. He’s risen through the academy ranks at Old Trafford, claiming eight goal contributions from 55 appearances during his time with the Red Devils.

In truth, the player is wise to be leaving United. He’s hardly been considered a first-team regular and under Erik ten Hag’s management, he’s found frequent football hard to come by.

Elanga has turned down a switch to Everton in favour of a transfer to Forest. The club are going to pay £15 million to secure his services and he looks like a talented player for the future.

The United man is only 21-years-old and he should improve in the coming years. Now, Forest will hand him a long-term deal and hope that he can reach his full potential at the City Ground.

This one looks like it’s getting closer to being completed. It’s not anticipated that there will be any problems with the medical and he should sign for the club shortly after.

Elanga looks like an interesting signing. He is still a youngster, however, and perhaps the fan base will have to remain patient with the winger.

Forest definitely need an injection of some quality to their frontline. Taiwo Awoniyi was the top goalscorer last term but some more depth is required.

Brennan Johnson will hopefully remain at Forest, with Morgan Gibbs-White likely to remain integral next season.

Emmanuel Dennis and Sam Surridge could both leave this summer. As a result, the signing of Elanga is badly needed and Forest will hope he produces the goods.

The youngster is also a good signing for registration purposes. As he’s under 22, Forest won’t need to include him in their 25-man squad and given the size of the squad, that will be helpful.
