Juventus are keen to sign Nottingham Forest midfielder Remo Freuler before the season gets underway. It’s claimed that the Reds would be willing to let the 31-year-old leave this summer.

According to reports, the Reds are set to receive an offer from Juventus to take Freuler. The initial deal would see the player go on loan but an option would be included to sign him permanently in 12 months.

Quite simply, he hasn’t worked out at Forest. Although he’s not been quite as bad as some of his harshest critics have claimed, he’s struggled to adapt to Steve Cooper’s style of play that doesn’t involve having much of the ball.

Freuler has been a quality player for Atalanta and Switzerland throughout his career. With that in mind, it’s quite bizarre that some Forest fans seem hellbent on suggesting he’s a bad player.

The man with 57 caps for his country is now wanted by the Old Lady – and it’s a move that will surely appeal. He’s a seasoned veteran with bags of experience in Serie A and he could thrive back in Italy.

Cooper is keen for Forest to add another central midfielder to his ranks. A player who can play the defence-minded position is in the head coach’s sights and Freuler leaving would free up some space.

Juventus want Freuler from Forest

This is a move that Forest simply have to do whatever it takes to complete. Freuler would be quality for Juventus and he should thrive in their midfielder, given his expertise in Serie A.

Freuler isn’t a bad footballer, that notion is just ridiculous. He’s has captained Atalanta in the Champions League and he’s also played 57 times for his country throughout his career.

When he reports for international duty, he’s one of the first names on the teamsheet and nobody with that stature can be considered a poor player.

Forest, however, are probably better off without Freuler. He doesn’t fit into any of Cooper’s systems and he deserves to play for a club where he can finish his career with a flourish.
