Nottingham Forest are considering a move to sign Arsenal player Marquinhos but they could loan him straight out to Olympiacos. The Reds are desperately trying to bolster their own squad and perhaps this seems a bit of a strange deal.

According to Tutto Mercato Web, the Reds are keen on signing the tricky winger. He’s not really been in favour under Mikel Arteta and for the second half of last season, he joined Norwich City on loan.

During his time at Carrow Road, the Arsenal-owned player scored once and claimed one assist from 11 appearances. As a result, he’s viewed very much as a work in progress at this stage of his career.

Still, Forest would have to buy him. Arsenal are prepared to let him go but with money thought to be tight at the City Ground, loaning him straight out wouldn’t make sense.

Forest target Marquinhos has only made six appearances for the Gunners, with one of those coming in the Premier League. During his time in the red and white, he’s scored once and claimed one assist.

Arsenal landed the winger in 2022. He checked in on a long-term deal from Sao Paulo in Brazil and he does look like a talented starlet.

Dean Ashton lauded Marquinhos during his time at Norwich last season. He called him ‘special’ after he notched for the Canaries during his debut outing.

Forest considering move for Arsenal gem Marquinhos

This would be a good signing but it won’t go down well that he’s going straight out on loan to Olympiacos. Forest need players of their own and they don’t need to be loaning decent players out.

Marquinhos might be a big raw for the Premier League. However, the Reds are light in their attack at the moment and ultimately time is running out to strengthen.

The Brazilian is very highly-rated and he could prove very useful. Arsenal are keen to sell and this is a deal that could be done very quickly.

Rumour rating: 3/10 – We’ve gone low because we don’t think the loan aspect makes any sense whatsoever.

Forest are reportedly tightening their belts and buying someone and then loaning him out is just ridiculous.

Marquinhos is a quality young talent and under the influent of Steve Cooper, he could thrive if he’s given a chance.
