Nottingham Forest could be about to receive a huge offer for Danilo from Liverpool. The Anfield giants have suffered several transfer blows in recent weeks and are now going after the Brazilian.

According to E Gool, the Reds man is the subject of interest from Liverpool before the window closes. The player only arrived on Trentside from Palmeiras during the January transfer window.

The 22-year-old grew as a player as the season progressed. He scored his first three goals for the Reds during games against Brighton, Brentford and Southampton during the 2022/23 campaign.

Danilo was a firm fan favourite at Forest. He really took to the fans and they adapted the Spandau Ballet classic hit ‘Gold’ to include his name in an amusing chant.

The player has proved very good value for money at just £16 million. Now, it’s thought that Liverpool are closely monitoring his availability.

However, Forest fans shouldn’t worry too much. His agent has seemingly dismissed these links and suggested that a transfer is far more likely in 12 months.

That should quickly inform Liverpool that he’s not available this summer. Still, the Reds are getting pretty desperate after missing out on Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia in recent weeks.

Liverpool want Forest star Danilo

With Forest seemingly likely to sell Brennan Johnson this summer, they shouldn’t be considering a sale for any of their other top players.

Danilo is growing as a player at the City Ground. As a result, he’d be better off staying at the club and continuing to play regular first-team football.

The youngster also got two assists during 2022/23 and he will be a regular in the team under Steve Cooper over the next year.

If he keeps performing as he did at the end of last season, Liverpool will have a rivalry for his signature. For now, however, Forest simply must avoid the temptation to sell him.

Danilo is extremely important to Forest and their fortunes this season. Liverpool would naturally provide an attractive move but for his own development, the player is in the right place right now.
