Nottingham Forest may face competition from Arsenal for the signature of Galatasaray defender Victor Nelsson.
Journalist Rudy Galetti has confirmed that Mikel Arteta’s side may be forced into the market for another defender after the injury suffered by Jurrien Timber.
Steve Cooper’s side have been hunting for a new centre-back all summer, with Nelsson one of many targets on the Reds’ shortlist.
Forest have had multiple bids rejected for the 24-year-old Danish centre-back, with Nelsson wanting to leave Galatasaray in order to play in a higher league.
The Turkish side are asking for £21.5 million for the defender, but with Arsenal looking at signing the Forest target, the Reds may need to look elsewhere.

Other potential options for Nottingham Forest
The Reds have been exploring options for central defenders all over the globe, but they could be one step closer to ending their pursuit.
Fabrizio Romano reported last night that the club had submitted a bid for Corinthians defender Murillo, with the 21-year-old already agreeing personal terms.
It’s clear that strengthening the Forest rearguard is a priority this window, with Murillo potentially ending the Reds’ hunt for a new pacey centre-back.

Another piece of good news is defender Moussa Niakhate has fully recovered from his dislocated elbow which he suffered in pre-season, with the Senegalese defender in contention to start at Old Trafford tomorrow.
With a week to go until the closure of the summer transfer window, Forest still have a lot of deals in the pipeline with a couple having the potential to go right down to the wire.
