Nottingham Forest have now made the first bid to sign Corinthians defender Murillo. The Reds are keen to strengthen their rearguard and have identified the Brazilian brute.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Reds are keen to land the talented performer. The 21-year-old has agreed to personal terms over a move to Forest and the clubs are now thrashing out a deal.

It’s been claimed in recent days that the player has several admirers. Wolves and Fiorentina were rumoured with a move to sign the player who is thought to be valued at £17 million.

The Reds are hoping to get this deal completed very quickly. Strengthening the rearguard has been a bit of a priority for Forest this summer and the team has a South American feel to it.

If Murillo signs for Forest, he should have no problem settling in. Felipe and Danilo will provide fellow Brazilian teammates; whilst Gonzalo Montiel has signed after winning the World Cup with Argentina.

The central defender would arrive at the City Ground in tip-top shape. He’s made 31 appearances for Corinthians during the 2023 campaign and has claimed seven cautions.

This would be a welcome addition to the Forest ranks. The Reds have Felipe on the treatment table and Moussa Niakhate has only recently returned to action.

Murillo is uncompromising, yet he knows how to play out from the back. Forest need a little bit of composure adding to their ranks and hopefully the 21-year-old can bring that.

Forest are cranking up their recruitment drive. It proved a slow pre-season for the Reds but Steve Cooper will be happy to see some more activity when it comes to incoming dealings on Trentside.
