Nottingham Forest are still pushing to try and sign Chelsea player Trevoh Chalobah with a little over an hour left of the transfer window. The Reds made a £25 million bid earlier and now Tottenham are in the mix to sign him too.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Forest haven’t gone away just yet. However, the deal is complicated by having Andrey Santos on loan already to mean that Forest have to buy Chalobah if they’re to do any deal.

Earlier in the window it was claimed that Chalobah had rejected the advances of Forest. However, Forest have chanced their arm once again on transfer deadline day.
The 24-year-old is desperate to play regular football. He’s a product of the academy ranks at Stamford Bridge and has made 63 appearances for the Blues.
When he scored on the opening day of the 2021/22 campaign, Rio Ferdinand raved about him. He called him ‘unbelievable’ and also loved his performance in the Super Cup that year.

Regular action hasn’t been forthcoming though. He’s been way down the pecking order in recent seasons and Mauricio Pochettino arriving at the club hasn’t helped his cause for game time.
Forest still in the race to sign Chalobah
At 24, the player has bags of time on his side. Indeed, he fits the profile of a player who Steve Cooper would like to work with. However, at this late stage, a deal does feel unlikely.

Chalobah seems to still have reservations over this particular deal. Tottenham could hold the aces with this one and Forest would have to now buy him at this late stage.
The Blues have been very busy this summer. As a result of that, they have a few irons in the fire with regards to players leaving the club and now Forest will have to wait to see if Chalobah will join Hudson-Odoi at the City Ground
