Nottingham Forest have agreed a deal with Benfica to sign goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos. The Reds are set to complete the deal before tonight’s deadline and the player will travel to the UK for a medical.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the deal is now close to completion. Forest are set to sign the goalkeeper who will leave Benfica after five years at the football club, arriving from Panathinaikos in 2018.

Vlachodimos will be the second goalkeeper signing of the summer. The Reds have also landed Matt Turner from Arsenal and now they will be well-stocked.
The 29-year-old looks like an impressive signing for the Reds to make. Vlachodimos has 33 caps for Greece to his name and also made 225 appearances for Benfica.
He helped the Portuguese outfit to the league title on two occasions and he’s a born winner. The player will now pen a contract to continue his career with Forest.
MORE FOREST STORIES
The Reds had been linked with a move for Dean Henderson this summer. Although the new Crystal Palace goalkeeper is younger, Vlachodimos did make more saves than him last season, according to some statistics from Squawka.
Forest set to sign Vlachodimos from Benfica
The Reds are doing very wise by getting another goalkeeper through the door on deadline day. The Reds need competition and clearly, Steve Cooper doesn’t rate Ethan Horvath.

Vlachodimos looks like a shrewd piece of business. He’s vastly experienced and will come to the club determined to prove a point in the Premier League.
Forest will do some other deals today with deadline day upon us. Vlachodimos should be a Forest player by the time the day finishes and it will be intriguing to see him in action.
