Nottingham Forest have now submitted a bid to try and sign Chelsea star Trevoh Chalobah. The defender is a target of the Reds and they’re now rivalling Bayern Munich for his signature.

According to the Daily Mail, the Reds have submitted a new offer this afternoon. The club were interested in his services earlier this summer.

Back then it was claimed that Chalobah had rejected the advances. It was thought that those reports were wide of the mark though, with Forest back in the race.

The 24-year-old is desperate to play regular football. He’s a product of the academy ranks at Stamford Bridge and has made 63 appearances for the Blues.

When he scored on the opening day of the 2021/22 campaign, Rio Ferdinand raved about him. He called him ‘unbelievable’ and also loved his performance in the Super Cup that year.

Regular action hasn’t been forthcoming though. He’s been way down the pecking order in recent seasons and Mauricio Pochettino arriving at the club hasn’t helped his cause for game time.

Forest submit offer for Chelsea player Chalobah

At 24, the player has bags of time on his side. Indeed, he fits the profile of a player who Steve Cooper would like to work with.

Chalobah could be keen to sign for Forest. However, £25 million could be short of Chelsea’s valuation and they might need to up the ante.

The Blues have been very busy this summer. As a result of that, they have a few irons in the fire with regards to players leaving the club and now Chalobah might join Callum Hudson-Odoi at Forest.
