Paul Merson thinks Nottingham Forest will benefit from signing Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi. The Reds are set to tie up the transfer deadline day deal, with the 22-year-old to reunite with Steve Cooper.
Merson has been quizzed on the day’s business so far during an interview with Sky Sports News. He feels that Hudson-Odoi has plenty to offer and fancies Forest to get the best out of him.

It’s been a frustrating 12 months for Hudson-Odoi. He was loaned out by Chelsea to Bayer Leverkusen last season and he managed just two goal contributions in 21 appearances.
Now, Forest are going to take him in a bargain deal. The Reds have been keen to get his one sorted, with Brennan Johnson likely to go to Tottenham in a move that is gathering pace.
The Soccer Saturday pundit likes the deal from a Forest perspective. He thinks it’s a move that will ultimately suit all parties in the long run.

Merson told Sky Sports News: “Hudson-Odoi will probably go to Forest which I think is a great signing for them, I really do. When you play at Chelsea, 10 sit behind the ball and it’s hard, you get doubled up on. At Forest teams will have a go, and he’ll get isolated and plenty of space. I think he suits Forest. He’ll be a very good signing.”
Merson thinks Forest are completing a great signing in Hudson-Odoi
This does like look a good move in fairness. There’s not really much to like. Forest are getting a player on a bargain deal who has played for England three times and who is desperate to rediscover his best form.

The Reds are busy on deadline day. They’re trying to get things finalised with incoming and outgoing business as they bid to make the squad look better.
Forest really could thrive if Hudson-Odoi can get going. He’s tormented the Reds in the past and it has all of the potential to be a signing that can really excite the Forest fan base.
