Michael Dawson and Kris Boyd have delivered their reaction on Sky Sports News after Ibrahim Sangare arrived at the City Ground.

The Ivorian is set to sign for the Reds. Sangare has completed his Forest medical and now the club faces a race against time to get the paperwork finalised.

Forest are getting their primary target over the line. Sangare was identified weeks ago but they’ve had to be patient when it comes to getting this deal sorted.

Dawson believes that Forest have taken a proactive approach. He’s impressed that the club have intertwined the deal with the one that sees Brennan Johnson join Tottenham.

The Reds are awaiting confirmation from Tottenham that Johnson has gone through before announcing Sangare.

Dawson, however, believes the Reds could be getting a strong deal if this one gets over the line.

He told Sky Sports News: “They’re certainly doing it, they are proactive. We probably said last season there were too many but they got what they wanted and they survived.

“They have been proactive. You can never say they’re not trying Forest. Sangare looks like coming, they haven’t got much time but that one looks like a good one.”

Boyd spent some time on loan towards the end of his career at Forest. He was part of the Sky coverage as Rangers were battered by PSV in the Champions League.

He got a close look at the 25-year-old powerhouse in midfield and he thinks that Forest will be getting themselves a decent player.

He added to Dawson’s comments: “If the deal gets done they’re signing a top player. Certainly, in the two games against Rangers, he was really good.”

Forest old boys think Sangare will be useful signing

This is getting very nerve-wracking. Forest need to get this deal done sharpish and fans won’t rest until this one is done.

Sangare is a game-changing signing and hopefully, there are no late hiccups with this one at the City Ground.

Forest will hope for good news shortly and then their fans will sleep soundly this evening.

Forest claimed that Johnson wouldn’t be getting his deal sanctioned without the Reds signing Sangare and now the Reds will wait!
