Callum Hudson-Odoi swapped Chelsea for Nottingham Forest on transfer deadline day. He joined the club in a cut-price deal to end his long association with the Stamford Bridge-based outfit.

Now, he’s told The Telegraph what everyone at Forest seems to be so shocked at following his arrival. The player spent many years rising through the ranks at Chelsea and produced some memorable performances for the club.

Hudson-Odoi has only cost Forest a pretty cheap £3 million. He should fill the void left by Brennan Johnson just nicely and hopefully, he can quickly get up to match sharpness.

It’s not his fee that has caused a stir behind the scenes at Forest though. The fact that Hudson-Odoi is still only 22-years-old has caused far more intrigue and the player has been discussing it.

He told The Telegraph: “Everyone at Forest has been saying the same since I signed – it feels like I’ve been around for a long time. I’ve been playing from a very young age in Chelsea’s first team but I’m not even 23 until November.”

Forest players shocked at one thing about Hudson-Odoi

The Reds have been very fortunate to get hold of the winger for such a bargain price. Furthermore, it is hard to fathom that he’s only 22-years-old.

Hudson-Odoi clearly came to Forest to link back up with Steve Cooper. The player worked with the Reds head coach when they won the Under-17 World Cup with England.

Time will tell just how useful Hudson-Odoi can be for Forest. First, he needs to get himself into the team but if he does that, he could quickly become an exciting addition to the Forest ranks.
