Jamie Carragher has raved about Nottingham Forest star Callum Hudson-Odoi following last night’s 1-1 draw with Burnley. The Reds came from behind to earn a share of the spoils with the new Forest player scoring a wonderful debut goal.
The Reds were below par on the night. Much like the game against Sheffield United at home last month, Forest were forced to withstand quite a bit of pressure during the contest.

Hudson-Odoi signed for Forest on transfer deadline day, waving goodbye to Chelsea after a long association. He had risen through the ranks at Stamford Bridge but recently he’d found himself surplus to requirements.
Last night, he gave Forest fans a glimpse of what he can be all about. His goal was a thing of real beauty and it gave the Reds a point that could be crucial in the coming weeks.
Carragher was certainly impressed. The pundit knows what he’s capable of and is now wondering if this move can be just the tonic for the player who has lost his way.
MORE FOREST STORIES
The pundit told Sky Sports: “He’s put him in tonight, you know, he’s got ability but can he produce something? Boy did he produce, it’s a great strike and for him, it won’t just be a case of getting a point for his team, it’ll be a case of whether he can get his career going again.
“He looked as though he was going to do special things when his career started. He’s done a special thing there in his first game for Forest and it’s a brilliant way to endear himself to the supporters and there is no doubt there is ability in there.”
Carragher hails Forest star Hudson-Odoi
This was a pretty good first performance in a Forest shirt for Hudson-Odoi. Naturally, there will be more to come from the player as the season progresses but he’s an exciting addition.
Hudson-Odoi cost the Reds just £3 million in the summer. As a result, he looks like a steal and even if last night did see him peak, the club haven’t wasted too much money on him.

That won’t be the case though. Hudson-Odoi will be desperate to get back to his best and if he does, Forest will feel they have one of the best forwards in the country within their ranks.
There is definitely more to come from the talented player. This was a wonderful start at Forest for Hudson-Odoi though and his goal will live long in the memory.
