Morgan Gibbs-White has shared what he told Callum Hudson-Odoi before his brilliant Nottingham Forest goal. The Reds winger scored on his debut as Forest came from behind to draw 1-1.
Gibbs-White played the full 90 minutes of the contest with Hudson-Odoi being withdrawn before the end. It was an impressive first display for the player and there will be more to come.

The pair of Forest stars have played with each other previously. Both players were integral as the England under-17s won the World Cup back in 2017 in India.
Hudson-Odoi was tearing defenders to shreds not long after that with Chelsea in the Premier League. He has lost his way a little bit in recent years but last night there were signs that he can be useful for Forest.
Gibbs-White signed for Forest last summer in what was then a club-record transfer fee. Following last night, he’s explained what he said to Hudson-Odoi at half-time as Forest trailed 1-0 to Burnley.

He told BBC Sport: “I said to him at half-time to go on the inside and shoot. Stop being nicey-nice, be selfish. It’s an unbelievable finish.”
Gibbs-White explains what he told Hudson-Odoi before Forest goal
It’s good that Steve Cooper has found a way to get Gibbs-White and Hudson-Odoi back together again. It’s only been one game but they look as though they could star once again.
The Reds deserved a point last night but it’s hard to say they deserved all three. At times they were troubled by Burnley and they needed a couple of fortuitous VAR calls.

Still, there were some positives during this clash. After a glut of deadline-day signings, things will take time and Forest will play better than this as the season progresses.
It’s good that Gibbs-White and Hudson-Odoi are on the same wavelength and hopefully, their relationship can flourish as the season continues to progress.
