Robert Earnshaw delivered a one-word reaction to the goal scored by Nottingham Forest forward Callum Hudson-Odoi last night. The Reds drew 1-1 with Burnley at the City Ground to go eighth in the Premier League.

Forest head coach Steve Cooper handed Hudson-Odoi the chance to make his debut for the Reds. He repaid that faith in the 61st minute when he curled an unstoppable effort beyond James Trafford.

Hudson-Odoi was the star of the show during a pretty drab performance otherwise from the Reds. He will hope to score more goals and play more games as the season progresses.

Forest didn’t really deserve anything more than a point at the City Ground last night. Ultimately, it’s going to take time for the new players to bed in and Hudson-Odoi will improve even further.

The Reds paid just £3 million to sign the player from Chelsea in the summer. It’s a move that makes perfect sense, with Cooper having managed Hudson-Odoi when the England under-17s won the World Cup in 2017.

The man who served with distinction for a couple of years during his career still watches the fortunes of the club closely. After Hudson-Odoi’s goal, he simply placed the word ‘Wow’ on the club’s official Instagram.

Hudson-Odoi’s goal was a think of real beauty. Following a quality pass from Ibrahim Sangare, some great hold-up play by Taiwo Awoniyi saw the ball end up with the winger who unleashed an unstoppable effort.

Earnshaw clearly enjoyed the goal from the Forest newcomer. Hudson-Odoi will only improve with more game time and he could quickly become a star player under a manager who trusts him like Cooper.
