Nottingham Forest-mad Stuart Broad has raved about Murillo after his performance on Saturday. The 21-year-old kept his place in the team as the Reds drew 0-0 with Crystal Palace.

Forest landed Murillo from Corinthians during the summer transfer window. He cost the club a little over £10 million and after just two appearances for the club, he looks like an absolute steal.

On Saturday, he was in fantastic form for the Reds. He defended well once again and also showcased unbelievable composure to bring the ball out from the back.

Broad raves about Forest defender Murillo

The man who retired from all forms of cricket in the summer will have plenty of time to keep track of all things Forest now. He covered the team for Sky Sports earlier this season in the Carabao Cup.

Broad speaks fondly about Forest and he dearly loves the football club. Over the weekend, he took to Instagram to buzz over the performer of Murillo during the draw against Palace.

He posted: “Think we’ve got a player on our hands here Forest fans.”

Murillo dazzles and Steve Cooper must give him more starts

The easy bit is knowing when to stick a young player into the team but the challenge comes when deciding when to take them out again. There will come a point where Murillo needs a breather and that’s the conundrum for Cooper.

Murillo shouldn’t be in line for a rest from the Forest team any time soon, however. He will hope to keep his place when the Reds return to action against Luton after the international break.

Forest might have hit the jackpot with Murillo. It’s very early days at this stage but Broad could be right to say that Forest might have a quality player on their hands.
