Nottingham Forest starlet Murillo has been given recognition by Who Scored for his start to life at the City Ground. The defender has played the last four games for the club and looks a quality talent.
Murillo arrived at Forest for £11 million during the summer transfer window. He joined from Brazilian outfit Corinthians and was expected to come in as a backup with one eye on the future.
Steve Cooper has clearly seen something in the player on the training pitch, however. After some ‘outstanding’ performances at the Nigel Doughty Academy, Murillo has been thrust into action and is grasping his chance.
Murillo gets recognition for Forest form
The 21-year-old has been named in the Who Scored Under-21 Team of the Month taking players only from the top five European leagues. He’s been named alongside Jude Bellingham in the team and clearly, his form hasn’t gone unnoticed.

Murillo has a rating of 7.21 across his four games for Forest. Naturally, he must have impressed given that Cooper has kept him in the team and kept other options on the bench.
The youngster has given himself quite the reputation for being able to carry the ball out from the back. On Sunday, it didn’t come off against Liverpool but against Crystal Palace, he was lauded by Jamie Redknapp.
Murillo can go places in England
Brazilian footballers never lack confidence. Typically they have lots of flair, a smidgen of flamboyance and a desire to take games by the scruff of the neck. Murillo has ticked all of those boxes at Forest so far.
The challenge for Murillo is to continue improving and for him to keep his place in the team. Joe Worrall has been waiting in the wings on the bench in recent weeks. Felipe, Scott McKenna and Andrew Omobamidele are all on the fringes.
Murillo is so confident that he defies his tender years every time he plays for Forest. Given how he’s started life at the City Ground, it seems as though he’s quickly going to become a fan favourite.
