Chris Sutton has delivered his weekly prediction on Nottingham Forest as they prepare to face in-form Aston Villa this weekend.

Steve Cooper’s side will be looking to pick up a first home win since August when they defeated Sheffield United 2-1 after goals from Taiwo Awoniyi and Chris Wood.

After defeat against Liverpool last weekend, the Reds face yet another tough challenge again on Sunday against Unai Emery’s side.

Nottingham-born Sutton has predicted another afternoon of struggle at the City Ground for Cooper’s side.

Sutton predicts another defeat for Forest on Sunday

In his weekly column with BBC Sport, the former Blackburn Rovers striker has predicted another victory for Villa in their European hunt.

“Whenever Nottingham Forest are at home they are difficult to beat, but I don’t think Aston Villa are finding it difficult against anyone at the moment.

“Unai Emery’s side are playing with such confidence as well as being so well set-up. They score a lot of goals, and it is going to be hard for Forest to stop them.

“Forest have gone six games without a win, although they have drawn four of them.

“That’s seen them slip down the table but I don’t see them getting dragged into the relegation battle. Compared to the teams below them, they have got more than enough to stay up.”

Sutton’s prediction: Nottingham Forest 0-2 Aston Villa

Can Forest cause an upset this weekend?

Cooper’s side have already beaten Chelsea away from home and caused Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United a scare, by going two goals ahead after just four minutes at Old Trafford.

Although a win on Sunday may be unlikely, the Reds have demonstrated their ability to cause an upset against some of the better-quality sides in the Premier League.
