Nottingham Forest star Murillo is making some serious waves at the City Ground. The defender has really taken to the Premier League and he’s already looking like an amazing signing.
The 21-year-old made the move to England from Corinthians in the summer. He cost the club just £11 million and already it would appear that Forest have hit the jackpot.
Despite playing just five times for Forest, some remarkable statistics have emerged about Murillo. They serve to showcase exactly what sort of defender the Reds have signed.
Murillo statistic beggars belief and Forest have a gem
It’s fair rare that a central defender will be troubling the statistic compilers when it comes to attacking numbers. However, this is the position that Murillo currently finds himself in.
Between the Lines have Tweeted something out this week and Forest defender Murillo sits top of the charts. It’s a run-down of the highest successful take-on rate in the Premier League this season.

Despite playing just five games for Forest, Murillo is top. He sits ahead of Kieran Trippier, Edson Alvarez and Joachim Andersen with a brilliant 90% success ratio.
Forest should continue shopping in South America
There really are some bargains to be had when it comes to shopping in South America and in particular the Brazilian top flight. Murillo looks like a real find for Forest and the recruitment people deserve some credit.
Forest are set to add Nino to their portfolio of starts from Brazil in the coming weeks. Given that he’s just been called up by Brazil, the Reds could find themselves with the nation’s first-choice central defensive pairing if Murillo keeps his form up.
Having a player who can carry the ball out from the back is so useful. Naturally, Murillo now needs to pick and choose his moments to do that but these stats do show that he gets it right more often than not.
There is so much more to come from Murillo at Forest. However, he’s started brilliantly and frankly, these latest statistics make the defender a very exciting proposition for the future.
