Ibrahim Sangare has raved about Nottingham Forest striker Chris Wood. During a recent interview with the club’s media team, the midfielder has been discussing his first impressions of his teammates.
The combative performer arrived at Forest in the summer. With minutes left of the transfer window, the Reds paid £30 million to sign a player who had been courted by PSG and Bayern Munich.
Sangare has been a regular in the Forest team since he arrived from PSV. He’s been taking some time to adapt to the Premier League but against Aston Villa on Sunday he was brilliant.
Sangare raves about Wood during interview
Since the player checked in at the City Ground, he’s been a man of very few words. However, he’s sat down with the club’s media team this week to deliver his first impressions of his teammates.
When quizzed on who was the strongest player at Forest, Sangare opted for Wood and not Taiwo Awoniyi. The 31-year-old is currently out injured but he does have three goals to his name this season.

Sangare told the Forest media team: “Chris has to be the strongest one. Very strong upfront, attacking player. Very tough guy.”

Wood has been useful when called upon this season in the Forest team. His three goals have been matched by Awoniyi and it’s a shame that the experienced player is currently injured.
The man signed for £15 million from Newcastle has come back to Forest with a big point to prove. He’s looked fitter, stronger and leaner this season and he must get credit for that.
Wood is expected to be out until after the international break. With Awoniyi only just back from an injury himself, Forest would dearly like to be in a situation where they’re both fit and firing.
As for Sangare, it’s quite something that he fancies Forest striker Wood as the strongest player. The Ivorian is pretty strong himself and it’s clear that the striker handles himself well on the training ground.
