Nottingham Forest predicted team to play West Ham

Nottingham Forest face West Ham this afternoon and ahead of the game, we’ve tried to predict the team that Steve Cooper will pick. The Reds will be looking to build on last weekend’s magnificent victory over Aston Villa.

Forest won on that occasion thanks to goals from Ola Aina and Orel Mangala. Today will provide the Reds with a tough test against a side who are currently the UEFA Conference League holders.

Forest will go into the clash at The London Stadium as slight underdogs but the game promises to be a good one. Ahead of the game, we’ve looked at how Forest could line up today.

Predicted Nottingham Forest XI

The Forest rearguard

There won’t be many changes to Cooper’s team for today’s game. We do, however, believe that there will be one change at the back.

Harry Toffolo was brilliant last weekend but he could drop to the bench today. Serge Aurier could come back in and if he does, that could see Ola Aina switch to left-back.

Moussa Niakhate has praised Murillo this week and those two should get the chance to continue their strong partnership against West Ham.

In goal, Odysseas Vlachodimos will get the chance to continue establishing himself as the number one.

This could be where the game is won and lost today. As a result, there is absolutely no need for Cooper to go tinkering with this aspect of his team.

Orel Mangala, Nicolas Dominguez and Ibrahim Sangare should all keep their place in the team for this afternoon’s game.

Both Mangala and Sangare are on yellow cards and they must avoid picking up a caution if they don’t want to be suspended.

Leading the Forest line

Again there isn’t much need to be tinkering with this aspect of the team. A few players could return to the bench today but it’s unlikely any returning players will start.

With that in mind, Anthony Elanga will start on the left, Taiwo Awoniyi will play through the middle, and Morgan Gibbs-White should start on the right once again.

Here is how the Forest team could line up this afternoon:

Vlachodimos; Aurier, Niakhate, Murillo, Aina; Mangala, Sangare, Dominguez; Gibbs-White, Awoniyi, Elanga
