Nottingham Forest defender Moussa Niakhate has praised new signing Murillo for how quickly the 21-year-old has settled into life at the club.

Murillo, who joined the Reds for £13 million from Corinthians this summer, has played five games with the Brazilian already impressing.

The 21-year-old made his debut against Brentford, before producing a stunning Man of the Match performance against Crystal Palace – where he nearly scored one of the goals of the season.

He’s now formed a brilliant partnership with Niakhate with the pair keeping a clean sheet against high-flying Aston Villa last weekend.

Niakhate on Murillo’s impact

Speaking on the Shut up and Show More Football podcast, the 27-year-old admitted that he’s helping the Brazilian every day in training.

“He’s a good player with lots of good qualities – he’s still very young and he’s come from Brazil so he’s had to adapt.

“Everyone’s always worrying about adapting but he’s done that really well and he’s trained well too.

“For the minute, he doesn’t speak English – so sometimes me or Willy Boly have to translate for him but everyone is trying their best to help him.

Murrilo is only going to get better

After his £13 million move from Corinthians, no Forest fan could’ve imagined how good this 21-year-old was going to be.

He’s really hit the ground running in a Forest shirt and is starting to look like a great pickup, especially for the fee and the potential he has to improve.

Murillo has started to create a great partnership with Niakhate, who is also having a magnificent campaign. Hopefully, for Forest’s sake, it can continue with the pair pushing each other to improve further.
