Gary Lineker has given his verdict on whether or not Nottingham Forest will get relegated from the Premier League at the end of the season.

The former Leicester City striker has also given his take on how well Steve Cooper is doing as the Forest manager.

So, what has Gary Lineker said about Nottingham Forest? Let’s take a look.

What’s the story?

Well, Nottingham Forest are doing relatively well at the moment. The Reds are not going to challenge for the Premier League top four, but at the same time, they could escape the dreaded drop to the Championship.

Forest are 14th in the Premier League table at the moment with 13 points from 12 matches.

Steve Cooper’s side are as many as eight points above the relegation zone.

Former Leicester City striker and Match of the Day presenter Gary Lineker has given his take on Forest.

Leicester are at the top of the Championship table with 39 points from 16 matches.

Lineker said about Forest on The Rest is Football podcast: “At the moment they are 14th, eight points above the drop zone, they have beaten Chelsea and Villa this season. 

“I think they have been really good, I don’t fear for them in terms of relegation. I think they will be just above that fight for relegation, I think they will be okay.

“Almost like a Crystal Palace kind of vibe. I think they have done really well. I mean, it pains me to say.

“I’m a Leicester fan, they are our rivals, I thought we might swap places at the end of this season but I think we will be playing them in that East Midlands derby next year and I hope so because I think Cooper has done an excellent job, I really do.”

Nottingham Forest will not get relegated from Premier League

In my opinion, Nottingham Forest will not get relegated from the Premier League at the end of the season.

I believe that Forest will do just fine in this campaign. Of course, it is only November now and anything could happen in the coming weeks and months, but the signs so far for the Reds have been very positive.

Forest manager Steve Cooper knows his squad inside out now and is doing a very good job indeed.

I also think that Leicester will win promotion from the Championship and will play in the Premier League next season.
