Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper has made a claim about Callum Hudson-Odoi following yesterday’s game.
The Reds were beaten 3-2 by Brighton at the City Ground as the unbeaten home run came to an end.
Hudson-Odoi returned to the matchday squad for the first time since October, stepping off the bench in the second half.
The player cost Forest just £3 million in the summer. Sadly, he picked up an injury early into his Reds career and had missed four games prior to the Brighton clash.
Cooper on Hudson-Odoi inclusion
It was a refreshing sight to see Hudson-Odoi stepping off the bench as Forest chased the game.
When the Reds fell 3-1 behind to the Seagulls, he was summonsed from the bench to aid the team.

Hudson-Odoi looked pretty lively during his time on the pitch but Cooper has confessed he wasn’t supposed to play the 28 minutes he did.
Cooper told BBC Radio Nottingham: “Yeah definitely (good to see him back), he probably went on a bit earlier than what was ideal but yeah we could see we needed to get him on.
“We were probably going to make the change anyway before we went 3-1 down. It’s good to get him back and he’s going to be important for us.”
Forest need Hudson-Odoi fit
The Reds can’t afford to have any more players nursing injuries in the treatment room.
Forest have won just once in nine games and Hudson-Odoi has the star quality to help the team.
His injury record is probably the reason that Forest managed to get him for such a bargain price.
Hudson-Odoi showed flashes of his brilliance yesterday and Forest need to be able to call upon him regularly.
Cooper might be the perfect manager to revive his career and hopefully, he can stay fit and get some more games under his belt now.
