Nottingham Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White has been named in the Who Scored Team of the Week.

The Reds lost 3-2 to Brighton on Saturday but the Forest captain enjoyed his best performance of the campaign.

Gibbs-White operated out on the right wing once again and claimed an assist and scored from the penalty spot.

Gibbs-White named in Team of the Week

This is indicative of just how well Gibbs-White played given that Forest lost.

Who Scored picked their Team of the Week based on statistics and Gibbs-White was in fine form.

After naming him in their Best XI from Gameweek 13, Who Scored had some praise for the player too.

They said on their website: “Despite eventual defeat at the hands of Brighton, Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White recorded his highest-rated performance so far this season.

“The 23-year-old provided the assist for Anthony Elanga’s early opener, before converting from the penalty spot.

“Gibbs-White made a total of four key passes and completed three successful dribbles to earn a rating of 8.85.”

Gibbs-White must now kick on for Forest

It’s seriously hard for anyone to say a bad word about Forest star Gibbs-White.

Okay, he can be frustrating at times but when things do go wrong it’s usually because he’s trying to make things happen.

Gibbs-White signed for Forest from Wolves in a deal that could eventually rise to £42.5 million.

Last season, he was praised by Garth Crooks following a win over Arsenal. He called his performance ‘extraordinary’ as the Reds claimed a 1-0 win.

Naturally, that will see him judged but given that he’s an exciting British player, Forest were always going to pay more for him.

On Saturday, Gibbs-White was in fine form for Forest and despite playing out of position, he looked brilliant at times.

The challenge for the newly-crowned captain now is to showcase such performances on a more consistent basis.

If he does that, the goals and assists will continue to flow and Forest will begin to climb the table at a quicker rate.
