Chris Sutton has delivered his verdict on whether or not Steve Cooper should be sacked by Nottingham Forest.
The Reds need to get back to winning ways quickly after defeats to Everton and Brighton on home soil in quick succession.
Forest played really poorly at the weekend as Everton bolstered their survival push with a huge three points.
Cooper cut a dejected figure after the full-time whistle on Saturday and he knows that Forest need wins and fast.
Sutton discusses Cooper future
The pundit has admitted recently that he used to follow the fortunes of Forest as a youngster.
He’s now been quizzed on the future of Cooper and he admits that he’s uncertain what happens next if he does leave.
Sutton believes that Cooper has earned the right to try and revive Forest in their current predicament.
He said on the Monday Night Club: “No, it doesn’t surprise me because of the owner’s history of not messing about. At Olympiacos, he has a history of not messing about and he goes through a few managers.

“I have massive sympathy for Steve Cooper if Nottingham Forest are thinking of sacking him because I think Forest are good enough to stay in the Premier League this season and I thought they overachieved last season.
“It’s easy to forget the situation he took over at Nottingham Forest and it was a miracle really to get them up from that position.
“I worry a little bit after Steve Cooper. I think he guarantees them Premier League survival and then they can build again next season.”
Cooper needs Forest wins – and fast
We’re glad that we’re not Evangelos Marinakis right now. He must be completely torn and ultimately, he will be damned if he does and damned if he doesn’t.
Cooper has got some credit in the bank at Forest. However, after another summer of being backed, one win in 10 and just three wins all season is hardly acceptable.
Forest are hovering just above the relegation zone. There is a six-point buffer but one of the teams below them is Everton who are flying at the moment.
It’s not a particularly pleasant situation for Forest to be in right now. It would be nice if the players can show some character tomorrow night and park this talk of Cooper being in any immediate danger.
