Newcastle United star Dan Burn has lauded Nottingham Forest head coach Steve Cooper for his efforts in charge of the club.
The Reds boss is currently thought to be under pressure, although it has been claimed that things are calm behind the scenes.
Pressure will have intensified after Saturday when Forest were truly dreadful in defeat to Everton.
Burn rates Cooper highly
The Newcastle defender has admitted that Forest surprised him a little bit last season.
Cooper saw his underprepared Forest team succumb to a 2-0 defeat on the opening day of last season.
By the time the return game came around later in the season, Forest were improved and Burn was impressed with the transformation.
He doesn’t think Cooper should be under any pressure, despite the current bad run of form at Forest.

He told the Monday Night Club: “I really like him. Considering we played them first game of the season last season, at home, and beat them. I thought well they’re in trouble.
“The contrast to the away game last season where you go to the Forest stadium, the crowd is up and it’s a tough game.
“I know they’re on a bad run but I genuinely think that Steve Cooper is a very good manager.”
Forest have big decision to make over Cooper
It’s hard to truly know what Evangelos Marinakis is really thinking about this whole situation.
On one hand, he will see Cooper as a head coach who is worshipped by the fan base.
However, on the other, he will want to see more of a return in the amount of money he’s spent on new signings.
Tomorrow night’s game against Fulham looks massive for Cooper.
Much like when Forest played Brighton away last season, the Reds need to put on a bit of a resolute performance to stop the rot.
Cooper is desperately trying to put things right at Forest and it really is a case of now or never.
