Stephen Warnock hammers 25-year-old Nottingham Forest star, Cooper will be ‘absolutely furious’

Stephen Warnock thinks Steve Cooper will be absolutely fuming with Nottingham Forest star Ibrahim Sangare after tonight’s first half against Fulham.

The Reds trail 2-0 at Craven Cottage and Sangare didn’t cover himself in glory for the opening goal.

Strikes from Alex Iwobi and Raul Jimenez have left Forest with it all to do and the pressure will intensify on Steve Cooper, with speculation rife.

Warnock discusses Sangare during Forest defeat

The Amazon Prime pundit made the comment shortly after Forest had fallen a goal behind.

Sangare gave the ball away cheaply up the pitch and that sparked a catalogue of errors leading to the opening goal.

Warnock said live on air: “Steve Cooper will be absolutely furious with Sangare there. He’s got to do better.”

The player was starting the game after coming off on the hour against Everton on Saturday.

Sangare has to do better

Right now, it’s not looking like money well spent when it comes to Sangare at Forest.

Cooper has admitted that he’s playing Sangare out of position as he tries to help him bed in.

However, he’s not utilising a top player to his strengths and Sangare is looking worse with each passing game.

Something has to give and Cooper would be wise to get Sangare back as the holding midfielder, with two runners around him.

Warnock is right to slam Sangare for his first-half showing and it would be no surprise to see him subbed after this glaring error.

The player can play better than he currently is at the City Ground and Forest fans will hope to see more from him.

He can’t keep costing the team goals, however, and he must up the ante in the Forest midfield.

Cooper’s job is on the line and a big second-half performance is required from the Ivorian.
