Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis admires Marco Silva as a possible candidate to replace Steve Cooper.
The 47-year-old boss oversaw a 5-0 win over the Reds last night as Cooper walked further down the plank.
The current head coach’s position looks untenable at the City Ground and a change could be on the horizon.
Cooper has been in charge of Forest since September 2021. He took over the team when they were bottom of the Championship and oversaw promotion to the Premier League.
Marinakis likes Silva as Forest plan change
If Forest can prise Silva away from Fulham, it wouldn’t be the first time that he’d worked for Marinakis during his career.
He spent the 2015/16 campaign at Olympiacos and did extremely well, winning the Super League title.
Silva oversaw 38 wins in 48 matches and clearly, Marinakis remains a huge fan of the Portuguese manager.
Now, according to the Daily Mail, Forest would consider an approach to make Silva their new head coach should Cooper get the axe.

Silva has managed Hull, Watford and Everton in the Premier League, getting the Fulham gig in July 2021 following their relegation to the Championship.
He’s been in charge of the Cottagers for 112 matches and led them to 54 wins, with last season’s 10th-place finish a particular highlight.
Forest owner admires boss but getting him will be tricky
Forest might want to take a chance on Silva but tempting him to leave a pretty cushty gig at Fulham will be quite tricky.
Furthermore, he’s just witnessed exactly what state Forest finds themselves in and he might not fancy reviving the confidence of the players.
Silva would be a particularly decent appointment. He’s a nice age for an head coach, yet he does have plenty of experience in the Premier League.
Whoever replaces Cooper has to get the fans on his side pretty quickly. Stuart Pearce praised the Forest supporters last night for the backing of the current head coach.
Results are needed pretty quickly though. No fewer than 11 points have been dropped from winning positions and Forest are now in a relegation battle.
Silva could be tempted to work with Marinakis again at Forest but it won’t be an easy conversation for the pair to have.
The Portuguese incumbent might see Fulham as a project that he simply can’t walk away from and that would leave Forest back to the drawing board.
