Nottingham Forest star Harry Toffolo has shared details of a meeting with Miltiadis Marinakis last week. The son of Evangelos Marinakis was at the Reds’ training ground on Thursday.

Mariankis Jr was summonsed to the City Ground along with Ross Wilson following a 5-0 defeat to Fulham. The hierarchy decided to stick with Steve Cooper, despite intense speculation that he might be sacked.

Forest battled to a 1-1 draw with Wolves on Saturday as they ended a run of four straight defeats. Toffolo was on the mark for Forest as he bagged his first goal in the Premier League, drawing praise from Nigel Jemson afterwards.

It’s not unusual for Wilson to be at the club’s training ground. However, it was perhaps out of the ordinary for Miltiadis to come in specifically to address the players.

Toffolo has now shared some details of the meeting that took place at the Nigel Doughty Academy. He’s claimed it was productive and helped the club claim a point at Molineux.

The defender told the Daily Mail: “Miltiadis came in the week and gave a good talk to us all on Thursday. He was inspirational and it was good we have that alignment from the very top.

“He is fully supportive and told us to go out and fight. Hopefully, we showed how much it means to us to play for this club.”

Forest desperate for a victory

The games don’t get any easier for Forest. Next up is Tottenham on Friday night and they have to give everything in order to claim a big three points in that fixture.

Toffolo has earned a reprieve at Forest this season. He’s now the first-choice left-back and he richly deserved his first goal for the club against Wolves on Saturday.

The 28-year-old is one player who can hold his head high, despite the team’s poor run of form. He always gives his all and it’s perhaps positive that the players responded to the speech given by Miltiadis at the training ground.
