Nigel Jemson has raved about Nottingham Forest star Harry Toffolo following Saturday’s 1-1 draw against Wolves. The Reds player scored his first Premier League goal at Molineux as Forest showed some fighting spirit.
Toffolo has risen like a phoenix from the Forest flames this season. He was very rarely considered the first choice at left-back during 2022/23 and saw a move to Anderlecht collapse in January.
This season, the 28-year-old had a disjointed pre-season as he was forced to answer some betting charges from earlier in his career. As a result, he only made one matchday squad during the first six games.
His opportunity came in October when Brentford came to the City Ground. When Ola Aina picked up an injury, Toffolo was thrust into action and has featured in every Forest game ever since.
Jemson raves about Toffolo
The man who won the League Cup with Forest is still doing some ambassadorial work at the City Ground. It would seem that he’s a big fan of Toffolo and he’s raved about him following Saturday.

After sharing a photo of himself with Toffolo, he said on X, formerly known as Twitter: “Interviewed this fella a few times and speaks so well. His performances lately have been impressive but after scoring against Wolves I love him more.”
Toffolo has worked hard throughout his career to find himself playing Premier League football with Forest. He earned his stripes at several EFL clubs and he deserves every success that comes his way.
Toffolo can now thrive at Forest
If Forest are going to persist with playing wing-backs as they did on Saturday, Toffolo will be buzzing. His main strength as a player is getting forward and he did that with aplomb on Saturday.
His goal saw him maraud into the box and get on the end of a telling cross from Neco Williams. It gave Forest a brilliant start to the game and Toffolo a first Premier League goal.
Toffolo appears to have the backing of Steve Cooper right now. Nuno Tavares has been rarely seen in a Forest shirt, with the 28-year-old now ahead of him in the pecking order.
