The dad of Nottingham Forest target Federico Gatti has handed the Reds a bit of a transfer blow ahead of January.
Gatti is fancied by Forest and Everton when the window reopens. The player typically operates as a central defender and has been with Juve since 2022.
The 25-year-old might viewed as an alternative to Nino. Forest are thought to have agreed on a deal for the Brazilian and it’s unlikely the club will sign two centre-backs.

Gatti has become a regular in the Juve team this season. He’s made 12 appearances in the starting eleven and has helped the Serie A giants enjoy a fantastic run.
Gatti wants to stay at Juve amid Forest interest
The player’s dad has been discussing his son’s future. Forest and Everton could be fighting a losing battle when the window opens with the Gatti’s intentions crystal clear.
He told Tuttosport: “In the summer a couple of English clubs wanted him. I always thought that the Premier League was a type of football suited to him.
“But my son sees it differently. He has always and only wanted Juventus. He did very well, he never liked transfers against his will, like when Torino gave him to Alessandria at 14 and then when Alessandria didn’t think he was up to the mark.”
Forest should forget deal for Juventus player
The Italian giants are firmly in the race to win the Serie A title this season. As a result, prising Gatti away from them is going to prove nigh on impossible in January.
These comments from the player’s dad don’t bode well for any club hoping to sign him. Given that he’s playing well for Juve right now, it’s not even likely that the club would consider a sale.
Forest have to have a clear strategy in January. They need to have players ready to pounce upon and it just sounds as though wanting to sign Gatti would develop into a saga that the club could do without.
