Nottingham Forest are happy with the transfer bid made by Atletico Mineiro for Gustavo Scarpa. The Brazilian is currently on loan with Olympiacos but Forest want to sell him in January.

Scarpa hasn’t really made the grade at Forest, signing for the club back in January of this year. He joined from Palmeiras where he had claimed the Golden Ball for his efforts in their title-winning season.

The versatile attacker made 10 appearances for Forest. His best performance arguably came against Leicester when Ian Wright raved about his performance on Match of the Day.

Atletico Mineiro want to tie up deal for Scarpa

Scarpa is surplus to requirements at Forest. Now, it’s claimed by Goal Brasil that Mineiro are back on the scene and have made a bid of £3.5 million for the player.

Forest are happy with that amount for the player – but Scarpa needs some convincing to make the switch back to Brazil.

When he signed for Forest he claimed it was always his dream to play in Europe. However, given that he’s now struggling with Olympiacos, the dream has become a nightmare.

Forest have to convince Scarpa to leave

There’s just no way that Scarpa is going to earn a reprieve at Forest. Although he showed flashes of promise, he did look a little bit lost when it came to the Premier League.

Scarpa needs a move away from Forest to get back to his best and where better than Brazil, where he’s already showcased that he can excel in that division.

The report claims that Mineiro are hoping that they can convince Scarpa to move back to South America when the January transfer window reopens.

Forest want Scarpa gone and it does seem as though the January transfer window will be a good chance for Forest to streamline their squad a little bit.
