Nottingham Forest player Gustavo Scarpa now wants to stay with Olympiacos for the remainder of the season. There has been intense speculation over the player’s future and now another update has come to light.
Scarpa has been a bit of an enigma during his time at Forest. In truth, the player did find it difficult to settle last season, with game time coming at a premium.
The 29-year-old was allowed to leave the club in the summer. Scarpa signed for Olympiacos where he’s been viewed as a peripheral figure during the 2023/24 campaign.
Scarpa wants to stay with Olympiacos
Some news has come to light courtesy of journalist Jorge Nicola. He believes that Scarpa now wants to see the season out with Olympiacos, despite interest from elsewhere.
Yesterday, it was claimed that Colorado were keen to sign Scarpa when the transfer window reopens in January. However, he now looks to have decided his next plan of attack.

Nicola made these claims on Canal do Nicola where the talk turned to Scarpa and his future. He believes that the appointment of Carlos Carvalhal at the Greek club will help him make more of an impact.
Forest need to offload Scarpa
It quite simply hasn’t worked out for Scarpa at Forest. The Premier League is a tough division to adapt in and in 10 appearances for the club, he didn’t register a goal contribution.
His highlight in a Forest shirt probably came during a 2-0 win over Leicester. On that occasion, Ian Wright raved about him on Match of the Day and was impressed with his efforts.
Scarpa couldn’t do it consistently to impress Steve Cooper sufficiently, however. That led to him being loaned out in the summer and now he’s trying to make a name for himself at Olympiacos.
The challenge for him during the second half of the campaign is to get into the team at his loan club. If he does that, Forest should have no problem in cashing in on the Brazilian.
