Brennan Johnson has sent a message to Nottingham Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White on Instagram. The Tottenham player was forced off on his return to the City Ground on Friday with a nasty-looking head injury.

Johnson signed for Spurs during the summer transfer window. Forest recouped about £50 million for the player and he’s settling in nicely with his new club.

The 22-year-old left Forest after being a big player for the club where he came through the academy. He scored 19 goals as the Reds won promotion and last season he scored eight times.

The player has posted on Instagram after a 2-0 win for Tottenham against Forest. He was quick to praise everyone who sent him messages of support following his injury.

Johnson has also mentioned Gibbs-White in his reply after another defeat for Forest. The pair struck up quite a relationship at the City Ground and clearly, the mutual respect is still there.

Johnson posted ‘My broski’ after thanking Forest and Tottenham supporters for all their messages after the injury he sustained which forced him out of the action.

Gibbs-White missing Johnson as Forest form stutters

Last season, the two players were in fine form for the Reds. Gibbs-White and Johnson were instrumental as the Reds survived relegation from the Premier League.

Forest tried to fill the void of losing Johnson with Anthony Elanga and Callum Hudson-Odoi. Elanga is doing a decent job at the City Ground but Hudson-Odoi has already struggled for fitness.

Johnson should be respected for what he achieved at Forest. However, the challenge for Forest is to now cope without him and players like Gibbs-White need to step up in his absence.
