Nottingham Forest decided to part company with Steve Cooper yesterday and following the news Callum Hudson-Odoi and Orel Mangala have reacted on Instagram.

The Reds head coach leaves after over two years in charge of the football club. He leaves on the back of one win in 13 matches and that’s proved the straw to break the camel’s back.

Hudson-Odoi and Mangala were both signed for Forest by Cooper. Mangala signed shortly after the Reds won promotion, with Hudson-Odoi signing for the Reds for £3 million from Chelsea in the summer.

Mangala and Hudson-Odoi react as Forest sack Cooper

It really is heartbreaking to see Cooper depart Forest. Okay, the results haven’t been good but what the head coach achieved at the football club will never be forgotten.

Mangala took to social media first to post on Twitter his gratitude towards the now departed manager who gave him his first crack at Premier League football.

Next up to react was Hudson-Odoi. He was re-signed by Forest boss Cooper in the summer as the boss chose to reunite with a man who played under him for England at under-17 level.

The player was thankful for everything that Cooper had done for him. He also stated on Twitter his pride at getting the chance to play under the 44-year-old’s influence at Forest.

Hudson-Odoi and Mangala will hope for Forest opportunities

For Mangala, his place should be guaranteed. He’s been one of the club’s shining lights this season and is arguably the club’s Player of the Year so far.

Espirito Santo will surely find a place for the Belgian in his midfield engine room and he should be able to continue his fine form.

As for Hudson-Odoi, he will hope to get himself back in the Forest team on a regular basis now Cooper has departed. He’s struggled a little bit since coming back from injury and game time hasn’t been forthcoming.

Espirito Santo won’t have much time to assess his Forest squad. As a result, it remains to be seen whether or not either Mangala or Hudson-Odoi play against Bournemouth on Saturday.
