Jamie O’Hara was left stunned by Nottingham Forest star Chris Wood after his display against Newcastle. The Magpies were shellshocked by Forest and he couldn’t believe what he was watching.
Wood scored three times in the game and Alan Shearer recently claimed that he could have scored more. It was a marvellous performance from the 32-year-old and Forest claimed a huge victory.
O’Hara was seriously impressed with how Wood had played during the game against Newcastle. He blew the Magpies away to showcase what he was capable of almost 12 months after leaving St James’ Park.
O’Hara stunned by Wood after Forest victory
The pundit was on TalkSPORT yesterday morning to discuss the Boxing Day action in the Premier League. Talk soon turned towards Forest and in particular, Wood.
O’Hara said live on air: “Fair play to Chris Wood, it was a brilliant hat trick but I couldn’t believe what I was watching really. At his old club. He’s a decent player and let’s not get away from the fact he’s still a top player but Newcastle have to be winning those games.”

Wood took his goal tally to seven for the campaign with his trio of strikes for Forest in the North East. He will now hope to maintain a run in the team as the Reds settle under new head coach Nuno Espirito Santo.
Forest will hope to kick on under Nuno
O’Hara is right to praise Wood for his Forest hat-trick. However, he does have a point when he says Newcastle will feel they should be winning these games on home soil.
In Eddie Howe’s tenure, Newcastle have only been beaten at home by Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool. Now, Forest must be added to that list.
If this is the type of performance that Forest can become accustomed to under their new manager, it’s very exciting indeed. The Reds never really looked like losing, despite falling a goal behind.
Now, the challenge is to maintain this level of performance. Forest – and Wood – will hope to leave pundits like O’Hara stunned on more occasions between now and the end of the season.
