Jim Beglin has given his verdict on Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Matt Turner after watching him in action against Manchester United at the City Ground.
The former Liverpool and Leeds United left-back has hammered Turner for the goal that Forest conceded in the Premier League match.
So, what has been said about Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Matt Turner? Let’s take a look.
Criticism for Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Matt Turner vs Manchester United
Well, Nottingham Forest beat Manchester United 2-1 at the City Ground in the Premier League on Saturday evening.
Forest headed into the match high on confidence after winning against Newcastle United and were expected to at least draw with the Red Devils.
Nuno’s side did better and won against Erik ten Hag’s team 2-1. I think that it was a deserved victory as well.
However, Matt Turner could have cost Forest two points. While the USA international goalkeeper did make some good saves, the £7 million signing from Arsenal in the summer of 2023 (The Daily Mail) was at fault for the goal that the home team conceded.

Moussa Niakhate gave a routine back-pass Turner, who then tried to pick out Danilo but Alejandro Garnacho intercepted it and passed it to Marcus Rashford to score.
Jim Beglin was on co-commentary duty for the match on Premier League Productions, and he has hammered Turner.
Beglin said on Premier League Productions: “This is shocking. [Turner] has been suspect all through the game but the more the game has progressed the more he has been a liability.”
My View: Matt Turner needs to step up his game
In my view, Matt Turner needs to step up his game and has to do better for Nottingham Forest.
Yes, of course, I know that mistakes happen, but it is the manner in which Turner conceded the goal against Manchester United that is worrying.
A Premier League-level goalkeeper should be dealing with that kind of back-pass. Turner was at fault for the goals that Forest conceded against Tottenham Hotspur as well.
