Paul Robinson heaped praise on Nottingham Forest star Nicolas Dominguez as the Reds beat Manchester United 2-1. The Argentine scored the game’s opening goal in the second half of the contest.
Dominguez was returning to the Forest starting eleven for the first time since a 5-0 drubbing against Fulham earlier this month. Steve Cooper had chosen to freeze him out of the starting eleven and he’d not been selected by Nuno Espirito Santo either.
The 25-year-old showed his class here though. Dominguez swept in a brilliant opening goal and in fairness, he might have finished the game with more goals but for some solid defending.
Robinson praises Dominguez for Forest performance
This was a very classy performance from the Argentine player and Robinson was impressed. He was covering the game for BBC Radio 5 Live and after the goal, he heaped praise on him.
He told BBC Sport on Forest star Dominguez: “It’s really clever interchange play. The first time Forest get the ball on the floor in the final third. Dominguez holds his run and Montiel finds him with a well-timed pass.

“All he has to do is side-foot it into the bottom corner beyond Andre Onana. He makes it look easy, it’s a fantastic finish.”
Dominguez was signed by Forest from Bologna in the summer transfer window. He cost the club £8 million and the deal saw Remo Freuler go in the opposite direction on loan.
Dominguez deserves praise after classy display
It’s a testament to the player that he was able to come in and play in this manner. Dominguez will have been desperate to prove a point after being hooked in the 5-0 humiliation at Fulham during half-time.
The man with 11 caps for Argentina is a hardworking player and he was busy throughout the contest against Manchester United. Now, the challenge will be for him to keep hos place in the Forest team.
It would appear that every player has been given a new lease of life under Nuno Espirito Santo. That includes Dominguez and he will hope to grasp his latest Forest chance with both hands.
