Nottingham Forest attacker Morgan Gibbs-White earned praise from Jim Beglin after yesterday’s game against Manchester United. The Reds player scored the winning goal during a 2-1 victory.

Gibbs-White was in fine form during the contest. He was actually spotted rallying his teammates before the game during the pre-match huddle that takes place before every game.

Yesterday, his goal caught the eye. It’s one aspect of his game that he will be desperate to improve upon, with this one just his second of the 2023/24 campaign.

Beglin raves about Gibbs-White during Forest win

Forest claimed a second win in four days by beating United. The Reds needed a lift from somewhere and it’s now six points from three games under Nuno Espirito Santo.

Beating teams like Newcastle and United will almost certainly give Forest confidence. They now have a three-week break from Premier League action and it’s a good chance to take stock.

After his goal during yesterday’s game, Beglin raved about Forest star Gibbs-White and felt his finish was the tip of the iceberg on his entire performance.

He told Premier League Productions: “Just watch Gibbs-White, he’s all on his own. We’ve seen some good finishes in this game but that’s another one. He’s tucked it away with perfection. Wow, it’s really livened up in this second half.”

Gibbs-White has a new lease of life

Recently, the Forest star Gibbs-White has had a lot to contend with. He’s welcomed a new baby into the world and fatherhood appears to have ignited his football.

It’s difficult to say that he’s playing better simply because Espirito Santo has come to the club. Gibbs-White also had a healthy relationship with Steve Cooper so it can’t be as simplistic as that.

The new Forest head coach has given Gibbs-White the freedom to play through the middle, however. He was wasted earlier in the campaign on the flank and that is perhaps detriment to Cooper.

This win and goal should give Gibbs-White the confidence to kick on and score even more goals now. Forest are blessed to have him at the club and it’s exciting to see how he can continue to develop.
