Nottingham Forest want to sign Jose Sa from Premier League rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers in the January transfer window.

That is according to Football Transfers, which has reported Nuno’s stance on Sa.

So, what has been reported about Nottingham Forest, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Jose Sa? Let’s take a look.

Nuno wants Nottingham Forest to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper Jose Sa

Well, according to Football Transfers, Nottingham Forest want to sign Jose Sa from Wolverhampton Wanderers this month.

The report has claimed that Nuno, who was appointed the Forest manager last month following the departure of Steve Cooper, wants to sign an upgrade on Matt Turner.

USA international goalkeeper Turner, who moved from Arsenal in the summer of 2023, has made mad mistakes this season, including one against Manchester United last month.

Football Transfers has claimed that Nuno personally is “keen” on bringing Sa to the City Ground.

The report has noted that the 30-year-old Portugal international, who has been on the books of Wolves since 2021 when he joined from Olympiakos for £6.85 million (Sky Sports), turned down the chance to move to Forest in the summer of 2023 before signing a new long-term contract with the Wanderers.

My View: Jose Sa would make Nottingham Forest better

In my view, Jose Sa would be a very good signing for Nottingham Forest in the January transfer window.

Sa is a more experienced goalkeeper than Matt Turner in the Premier League and has done well for Wolverhampton Wanderers over the years. The Portuguese star has made 91 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career. He has kept 24 clean sheets and has given one assist in those games.

If Nuno thinks that Sa would make his Forest team better in goal, then I believe that the Reds should make a deal happen.

Turner is a good goalkeeper, but Forest, who have been linked with Keylor Navas as well, would be better off having him as a back-up to Sa.
