Chris Sutton has been left stunned by Nottingham Forest after they were charged by the Premier League yesterday.
The pundit has been speaking on Radio 5 Live.
So, what exactly has Sutton had to say about the situation at Forest? Let’s take a closer look…
What Chris Sutton has said about Nottingham Forest
Well, it would appear that the man who supported Forest as a child has been left pretty shell-shocked by the news.
John Percy announced yesterday that Forest would have to stand trial with the Premier League after breaching profitability and sustainability regulations.
Now, the Reds have a grey cloud hanging over them for a few months whilst an independent panel will hear Forest’s side of the story.
Sutton doesn’t really understand why Forest have let things get like this, however, and is struggling to grasp it all.
He told the Monday Night Club on BBC Radio 5 Live: “I’m amazed by a number of things.
“Basically, if Everton and Nottingham Forest were teetering near the edge, they must have been aware of this.

“So, with Nottingham Forest’s situation, what I don’t understand is, you said about the mitigating circumstances, but a time frame is a time frame and if that time frame is passed then they must have known what was going to happen.
“So why put themselves in that position?”
Sutton makes very valid points about City Ground situation
The pundit can sometimes say things that rub people up the wrong way. Ultimately, however, he’s got some good points here.
Forest have hired top football lawyer Nick De Marco to fight their corner. As a result, the club thinks they have a strong argument.
It’s now going to be a waiting game for Forest. It could be April before Forest discover their fate in terms of what their punishment will be.
All the team can do is knuckle down and try to get themselves as far away from the Premier League’s relegation zone as possible.
