Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Ethan Horvath is now set to sign for Championship strugglers Cardiff City in a permanent deal.

This news comes from Not The Top 20 Pod.

So, what has been said about Forest goalkeeper Horvath? Let’s take a closer look…

Cardiff City now want to sign Ethan Horvath from Nottingham Forest

Well, it would seem as though Horvath’s nightmare time at Forest is coming to an end, with Cardiff set to land the goalkeeper.

According to Not The Top 20 Pod, the Bluebirds are now closing in on the 28-year-old who hasn’t played since May.

His last appearance came in the Championship Play-Off final where he helped Luton Town win promotion to the Premier League.

The Hatters’ boss Rob Edwards called him ‘brilliant’ last season – but he chose not to pay the £3 million to make his loan permanent.

Horvath was omitted from the Forest 25-man Premier League squad this season, with Steve Cooper deeming him the fourth-choice custodian.

For the first half of 2023/24 he’s been training with the Forest squad but it can’t have been easy knowing that he’s had no chance of playing football.

Horvath should shine with Cardiff

In our view, this feels like a good move for Horvath and with Cardiff currently struggling in the Championship, he should get plenty of game time.

Horvath signed for Forest in the summer of 2021 and he made 11 appearances for the Reds during the promotion-winning campaign.

It’s been a tough time of things since Luton turned their back on him after he helped them win promotion with 20 clean sheets.

Now, he will hope to return to the Championship and hit the ground running, with the Bluebirds sitting 14th in the division.

Horvath has no future at Forest and this looks like a move that suits all parties with the deal set to be a permanent one.
