Kelvin Wilson has delivered his verdict on Nottingham Forest defender Joe Worrall after Nuno Espirito Santo committed the player from his team again.

The man who played for Forest and Celtic was speaking with the Forest Focus podcast.

So, what has Wilson said about Forest defender Worrall? Let’s take a closer look…

What Kelvin Wilson said about Forest captain Joe Worrall

Well, things are getting a little bit desperate for Worrall right now with the clock ticking towards the end of the transfer window.

Sheffield United are the latest club to be linked with a move for Worrall and he could leave this month.

For games against Blackpool and Brentford last week, Espirto Santo opted to go with Andrew Omobamidele instead; handing Worrall a new Forest blow.

Now, Wilson believes that time is up for Worrall at Forest and thinks it has to be a matter of time before he leaves the club.

Wilson told the Forest Focus podcast: “I’ve said about Joe before, he’s a good player, he’s a good defender. I just think with how Forest want to play, they want to play high, they want to play out from the back and that just doesn’t suit Joe.

“Now, Nuno has done that and played the young lad instead of him, I think he will have to move on, I really do.

“I talk about experience, Joe’s experience, you’d think if Nuno wanted experience he’d play him but he didn’t. It’s not the best situation for Joe. I feel it’s probably right, no disrespect to Joe, he’s a great lad but I just feel that if he had been playing wouldn’t have made a deal of difference to be honest.”

Wilson is dead right about Worrall

In our view, Wilson didn’t really want to sound too negative about Worrall and he’s been a pretty decent servant to Forest.

However, the fall out between Steve Cooper and Worrall hasn’t gone down well with supporters and a fresh start could be the best options for all parties.

Worrall has a number of clubs vying for his signature and it shouldn’t really be a difficult sell this month.

Ultimately, Forest have better players in their squad now than Worrall and a departure tis month looks the best scenario for all parties.
