A new update has come to light on the deal involving Nottingham Forest and Gio Reyna – and it’s not good news for the Reds.
The update has come from Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg.
So, what is the latest on the deal involving Reyna and Forest? Let’s take a closer look…
Details of Gio Reyna to Nottingham Forest now emerge
Well, a small update has come to light and it’s not the news that Forest fans would have been hoping for with this deal.
According to Florian Plettenberg, Forest won’t be getting an option to buy in the loan deal for Reyna when he signs in the next couple of days.
Earlier today, it had been claimed that Forest would hold the option to make a move for Reyna permanently for around £15 million.

Now, the deal will just be a straight loan and Reyna will extend his deal at Dortmund to the summer of 2026 before signing for the Reds.
Forest have been in the market for a new winger this month. Now, it looks as though Reyna will be checking in on loan, with the deal set to be completed ahead of the deadline.
Forest haven’t learned from past mistakes
This could be seriously detrimental to Forest and ultimately, it’s hard to believe that the club are learning from previous mistakes.
Djed Spence, Dean Henderson and Renan Lodi have all starred at Forest recently and then went on to excel elsewhere instead.
Given the news from earlier today, it felt as though Forest were learning from their past mistakes but apparently, that isn’t the case.
Reyna could now come to Forest, play extremely well and then head back to Dortmund or make them millions in a sale to another club.
In our view, this doesn’t make a great deal of sense and it takes some of the gloss away from the deal that will see Reyna come to Forest.
